Interest.com's weekly survey of major lenders, taken Dec. 3, found the average interest rate for a:
30-year, fixed-rate loan fell to 5.92% from 5.97% the previous week. A year ago it was 6.00%.
15-year, fixed-rate loan fell to 5.67% from 5.75% the previous week. A year ago it was 5.68%.
30-year, jumbo loan (for mortgages exceeding $417,000 to $729,750, depending on the city) fell to 7.46% from 7.55% last week. A year ago it was 7.12%. One-year, adjustable-rate loan fell to 5.96% from 6.17% the previous week. A year ago it was 6.07%.
Five-year, adjustable-rate loan fell to 6.14% from 6.27% the previous week. A year ago it was 6.10%.
